Education provides programming for human services professionals. Programs and workshops are designed for counselors, private
practitioners, psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, substance abuse counselors, nurses, and other health care professionals.
Human Services offerings provide credit and noncredit courses that may be applied towards continuing education units.
Education works closely with professional organizations such as the National Board for Certified Counselors, National Association
of Social Workers, Oregon Dispute Resolution Commission, and Addiction Counselor Certification Board of Oregon to ensure program
PSU provides workshops for professionals that provide Continuing Education Units
(CEUs). A Continuing Education Unit (CEU) is a National Uniform Measurement for noncredit continuing education programs and
is defined as "ten contact hours of participation in an organized continuing education experience under responsible sponsorship,
capable direction, and qualified instruction." It is calculated as:
1 contact hour = 0.1
10 contact hours = 1 CEU
12 contact hours = 1.2 CEUs
30 contact hours = 3 CEUs
CEUs and Academic Credit Information
CEUs or 14 Clock Hours - $20.00 = 14 hours of instruction.
- 1 (one) Graduate Academic
credit - $60.00 = 14 clock hours of instruction.
- There is a one time registration fee of
$27.00 for participants registering for graduate credit with PSU for the first time. This
fee does not apply for CEUs applicants.
